3D Salamander Creature Showcase

Project Summary
This project is a 3D organic modeling showcase created for a University 3D Modelling unit. The goal was to design and model an original game creature from scratch.
This model is a stylized Salamander, inspired by the anatomy of the Fire Salamander and the vibrant skin patterns of Giant Day Geckos. The design aims for a "harmless at first glance" aesthetic which using a cute silhouette and bright colors, but hides more dangerous features like predator-like snake eyes, sharp teeth, and a stinger tipped tail.
How to Play
This is a Unity WebGL export. So once the game loads:
- Click the game window to lock your cursor and start interacting.
- Use your Mouse to rotate and orbit the camera to inspect the model's details.
Controls
- Left Click: Lock mouse to the screen/interact.
- Escape Key: Unlock the mouse cursor to exit or use your browser.
What’s Inside
- 3D Model: A custom-modeled mesh created in Maya
- Textures: Hand painted textures created in Adobe Substance 3D Painter, including custom height maps for scales I did and battle scars.
- Unity Presentation: A real time render with custom lighting and a cinematic camera setup to show off the material depth and parallax eye effects.
